I have had a bad couple of months health wise, I knew there was something wrong with me at the beginning of January and over the next few weeks I got worse.
Last Wednesday I felt so bad I said to Jane she had better talk to Dorothy House, I went to bed then, Jane decided to try and talk to my consultant,he was in a clinic but his secretary got him to ring as soon as he returned to his office. Jane told him I'd had a blood test a couple of weeks ago he went off to look and ten minutes later he was back on the phone, he said he'd arranged for a gp to admit me to hospital and if he had seen these results 2 weeks ago he would have admitted me then. So off to the Royal United Hospital by ambulance. Only 4 hours in casualty this time and I ended up in the William Budd ward which is a specialist cancer ward. The staff on this ward are amazing, Every one does far more than they are paid for, the care I received was 5 star, many many thanks to you all.
It was decided that I needed a blood tranfusion, this happened Friday, took from 7.30 till 4 in the afternoon, this was amazing, I love blood donors. It appears I have something called AIHA or Autoimmune haeolytic anemia.
The doctors decided I then needed to rest and I said in hospital, so I came home Friday and went back for a blood test on Saturday
Wednesday this week I went back to see my consultant, it appears that this was brought on by my leaukemia and the next thing to do is get the leaukemia back under control, but for the next month I have to take strong dose of steroids (currently 16 tablets a day). Then start chemotherapy in April, he wants to try a new chemo drug as it is better suited to me now, he has to go to NICE to fund it.
I have to say thanks to everyone for there help and support, thanks, I love you all

You are not 'rubbish at this blog thing'. I found your blog after seeing one of your great exhibitions at the hospital in Bath; I am inspired by your paintings, and by the way you have fought back at your disease, although I don't comment often. Please God your chemo will work brillianty. You may not believe, but I do,so that's OK!
