I have become interested in Science, particularly research and anything about the universe, what has impressed me are some of the scientists, I have watched some on the TV and read some of their work, it has made me ask the question why they are'nt celebrities, I see some of the celebrities we have ie foul mouth cooks, refugees from reality shows, footballers and the like, yet people with brains and able to articulate we do'nt recongnise.

I totally agree Philip. There's an epidemic of anti-educational celebrity that infects us from the waking moment to the second we sleep. "News for the Naive". If it's not a millionaire footballer sleeping around that the WHOLE country is concerned (and opinionated about) it's a woman who's only asset was purchased and sewn into her chest! A conspiracy to keep the blinkers on the masses? I would recommend the knowledge quenching 'New Scientist' magazine. It's available in most decent magazine retailers or direct to your door on subscription! There's always something fascinating in their scribings!
